This article explains how a video conference with Google Meet works.

0. prepare video meeting

To prepare for the video meeting: https://help.subsidia.ch/de/articles/5064816

  • Separate room (no background noise)

  • PC, notebook, tablet with integrated camera

  • Password for Google account must be known.

If Google password is not known:

  • Please open window in "incognito mode".

  • Option 1: Click the "Menu" button with three dots at the top right

  • Variant 2: Open Chrome and press the key sequence [CTRL-SHIFT-N].

1. accept email with "Google Meet" invitation

  • Click on "Accept" and "Send reply now"

    (This will add the appointment directly to your agenda)

2. Join the video meeting

  • Open the calendar entry and click on the link in the email

  • If: the password from your Google account is not known, link for the procedure

  • Click on the "Participate" button

  • Question appears: Meet.google.com wants to "Send messages" click on "Allow" button

  • Question appears: Meet.google.com would like to use *"Camera" + "Microphone" click on "Allow" button

  • Enter on line: "What is your name?" enter your name

  • Click on the button "Request participation" --> I will receive your request and activate you for the meeting

3. surface explanations

  • Unlock any locked microphones and locked cameras by clicking on the icon

  • See all participants in the window. --> Click on "Group icon"

  • Open chat to ask questions. --> Click on "Chat icon"
