Configuring receipt printer IP

In this article we explain how to configure the Epson Receipt printers model TM-T88VI and TM-T88VII.

The first steps are the same for both models, later on they differ slightly.

The model version can be found on the right-hand side of the printers.

TM-T88VI

a) Change power plug EURO to Switzerland

b) Insert cash register roll

c) Connect the power and network cable to the printer

d) The printer outputs a printout with the current IP address -> hold down the button and switch on the device at the same time

e) Enter the corresponding IP in the browser

f) Trust the connection and click on Advanced and then on Next

(FYI: The display depends on the browser. These screenshots refer to Chrome)

g) The default password for the Epson TM-T88VI printers is:

User: epson

Password: epson

h) Click on TCP/IP in the navigation bar

i) Set the distribution of the IP address from Auto to Manual

h) Set the static IP to the desired static IP (preferably: 192.168.1.180)

i) If necessary, adjust the default gateway 192.168.1.1. The default gateway corresponds to the Internet gateway and must be in the same network as the fixed IP.

Enter new IP in the browser

192.168.1.180

TM-T88VII

a) Change power plug EURO to Switzerland

b) Insert cash register roll

c) Connect the power and network cable to the printer

d) The printer outputs a printout with the current IP address -> hold down the button and switch on the device at the same time

e) Enter the corresponding IP in the browser

f) Trust the connection and click on Advanced and then on Next

g) Click on Administrator Login at the top right.

Enter the password (serial number of the Epson receipt printer can be found in the same place as the model information)

h) The password can be changed under Product Security, Change Administrator Password.

Enter the original password and the new password "epson" twice. Confirm with OK.

i) Set a fixed IP address under Network. The default is 192.168.1.180. (may vary)

Confirm with Next and OK. The POS printer restarts. (this may take some time)
