Checklist
The POS must have Internet access
The hardware must be compatible. The requirements can be found here: Link
The optional devices* need a fixed IP in the internal network.
The network topology listed below would be desirable.
The optional devices* are wired and require a network cable at the desired location (→ A network cable is therefore required for the cash register body)
The hardware must be configured for use on site with the help of various instructions.
*Optional devices are: POS printer, label printer and payment terminal
Good to know
The app has a minimal impact on internet performance. The smallest internet line of a Swiss telephone provider is sufficient.
We recommend Swisscom with failover as the connection (→Failover is part of the "Business Service" package). In the event of a network failure, the connection is then automatically established via the Swisscom mobile data network.
Windows 10 S is very limited in scope and prohibits the installation of other browsers (e.g. Firefox or Chrome). Windows 10 S is therefore not suitable for apps. In contrast, Windows 10 Professional is compatible.
If a tablet or computer is used as a POS, we recommend connecting it to the Internet via cable. Experience has shown that the connection with Wi-Fi is not 100% stable.
We recommend using the same network topology and the same IP per device per location. This makes it easy to reuse devices.
The POS must be in the same network as the hardware used in order to communicate with it. The app also works with Internet access via the mobile data network (4G), but the mobile phone then has no access to the POS printer and payment terminal.
When commissioning the Six payment terminal, the IP used must be communicated to Six Payment Service support.
